Welcome........

Hello and Welcome to Sammie's Dyslexia Awarness Website!

My name is Samantha and I'am a 7th grade dyslexic student.  I started this page so I could help others with reading disabilities like mine.  Four years ago I could not read. Then we moved to a school system who had the Wilson Reading Program and now I'm reading on grade level. I asked my Mom how I could help other children learn to read like me, she said maybe if I talked about it and wrote stories about it, it might help other children to learn.  I started to talk about it and I found out I'm not alone, there are a lot of kids like me. Please read my blogs...Sometimes my Sister Roseann or my Mom Beth writes blogs too... let me know what you think....You can write me comments I like getting them...Please check back often as we will update this site weekly.  We are on the verge of getting law passed  NJ Bill S-2400.  We need everyones support!

Thank you for doing this Sammie. My son is dyslexic and his school district says that they have the programs to help him but they don't! We've had to put him in a specialized school and are fighting the system. This is all about money and if the schools are so concerned about money it would benefit them to implement a program for students who are dyslexic and they wouldn't have to spend so much money on legal fees.
