A quick update to this blog. This movie is going to show ALL sides of not reading and WHY it is so important to learn how to read. It is about how not everyone can learn to read and fit into one genric mold. Its about raising awareness about teaching children to read in America and how important it is to catch children while they are young.... This title just reached into my very soul....I want to share with everyone a trailer from a very talented Director Named Jonathan Kaufman
He contacted me after reading one of the many articles written about Sammie's Mission. This is a documentary he is shooting about the life of 53 year old drummer names Rick "Pepper" Holmes who can not read and fells the education system in America has failed him. They decided to shoot this documentary to show you can still succeed however look how much is affected when you can not read. We have been invited to be interviewed for this 2 hour full feature documentary we feel honored to have been included. I would like to reach out to all our family and friends to ask you watch the trailer and let me know your thoughts. When this is done sometime in the Spring 2010. I would like to show this to the task force and also have a showing for parents and all people interested.
